What are PDO threads?

If want to lift sagging, loose skin without surgery, then PDO threads could be the treatment for you. The threads are inserted through a tiny tube and can lift most parts of the face, including the forehead, cheeks, jowls, jawline and neck to lift the skin back into place to create a tighter, firmer appearance.

Once the threads are inserted, the skin is suspended in its new position where new collagen cells will form around the biodegradable threads – keeping your skin smooth and supple for up to 2 years.

A thread inserted with a needle or cannula, so there are no incisions involved. And you will enjoy instant results and minimal downtime.

What are the benefits of PDO threads?

FAQ

PDO threads FAQs

More FAQs
Is a PDO thread lift right for me?
PDO thread lift treatment can be suitable for men and women who have sagging around their cheeks, jawline and neck. It is a minimally invasive procedure, so it is often a good option for customers who are not ready for traditional face lift surgery.
How long does a PDO thread lift take?
The PDO thread lift treatment usually takes less than one hour under local anaesthetic, but this is dependent on the number of threads required.
How does a thread lift work?
From a small entry point close to the ear, fine threads are inserted along the contours of the face in the areas that you have discussed with your practitioner. The threads create a subtle lifting effect and can encourage collagen production. The effects typically last 12-18 months and the threads will dissolve naturally over time.
Will I have scars following a thread lift?
There is minimal scarring and recovery times are much less than traditional face lift surgery.

Next steps

Your journey step by step

Your consultation

Your journey with The Hospital Group begins with a consultation with our friendly medical aesthetic practitioners, this may be an Aesthetician, Nurse Practitioner or Doctor. During this conversation you can talk through why you’re interested in this treatment, how much it costs, if there are finance options available to you, whether you’re suitable for treatment, if you’ll need a one off treatment, or a full course, as well as potential treatment dates.

You can ask our medical aesthetic practitioners any questions as they are extremely knowledgeable and have undertaken extensive training. If you feel ready to proceed, we can carry out a laser patch test (where applicable) and book your first treatment for a date and time that suits you.

The treatment

You can ask your medical aesthetic practitioner any final questions on the day of the treatment. All pre- and post-treatment advice will be discussed prior to the day itself, so you will know exactly what to expect during your treatment, including how long it will take, and how it will feel.

Recovery

For most medical aesthetic treatments, you will be able to leave the clinic as soon as your treatment has been completed, and you should be able to go about your normal day-to-day activities. If you experience any mild discomfort, redness or swelling, this will subside within the following days. Any specific aftercare requirements will be discussed at your consultation.

Aftercare

We are here to support you throughout your medical aesthetics journey, we believe that the highest quality aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself. If you have any questions or concerns at all, you can contact us at any time.
