Microdermabrasion FAQs

More FAQs
How does microdermabrasion work?
Microdermabrasion polishes away lifeless skin cells by using unique diamond chip wands paired with vacuum suction to remove cells from the skin. Buffing away the top layer of the skin will make way for new skin cells to grow, resulting in radiant skin.
How many sessions of microdermabrasion will I need?
This depends on the condition of your skin. You can discuss this with your medical aesthetic practitioner at your free consultation.
How long will I need to recover?
There is no recovery time needed after the microdermabrasion treatment. We do recommend that you keep your skin hydrated, use SPF, and avoid heat treatments such as saunas or steam rooms for 2 days. You can apply makeup a day after treatment.
How long does microdermbrasion treatment take?
The treatment takes around 30 minutes in one of our state-of-the-art clinics.
What results can I expect?
After your course of microdermabrasion treatments, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles should be smoothed. In addition to smoothing and improving the complexion of your skin, it can give it a more luminous glow and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Your skin tone should also appear brighter*. * Non-surgical treatment results and benefits can vary and are different for each individual. As such, Transform cannot guarantee specific results
What other treatments can I use?
Microdermabrasion can also be used to enhance the results of other skin rejuvenation treatments. Combined with anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers, it can help the effects of other treatments last longer. Microdermabrasion also compliments IPL laser skin rejuvenation and facial peels.

Your journey step by step

Your consultation

Your journey with The Hospital Group begins with a consultation with our friendly medical aesthetic practitioners, this may be an Aesthetician, Nurse Practitioner or Doctor. During this conversation you can talk through why you’re interested in this treatment, how much it costs, whether you’re suitable for treatment, if you’ll need a one off treatment, or a full course, as well as potential treatment dates.

You can ask our medical aesthetic practitioners any questions as they are extremely knowledgeable and have undertaken extensive training. If you feel ready to proceed, we can carry out a laser patch test (where applicable) and book your first treatment for a date and time that suits you.

The treatment

You can ask your medical aesthetic practitioner any final questions on the day of the treatment. All pre- and post-treatment advice will be discussed prior to the day itself, so you will know exactly what to expect during your treatment, including how long it will take, and how it will feel.

For most medical aesthetic treatments, you will be able to leave the clinic as soon as your treatment has been completed, and you should be able to go about your normal day-to-day activities. If you experience any mild discomfort, redness or swelling, this will subside within the following days. Any specific aftercare requirements will be discussed at your consultation.

We are here to support you throughout your medical aesthetics journey, we believe that the highest quality aftercare is just as important as the treatment itself. If you have any questions or concerns at all, you can contact us at any time.
