Introduction to weight loss injections

We understand how difficult weight loss can be, especially when your dieting and exercise attempts have proven unsuccessful to date. If this is the case and you need a little bit of assistance, then weight loss injections could potentially be the weight loss product for you.

So, what are weight loss injections?

Weight loss injections are a prescription only medicine that, when used in accordance with its guidelines, can help you lose weight. They are for adults only who are overweight and have struggled to lose weight by other means. For success, they should be used along side a reduced calorie diet and a high level of physical activity. The medicine is very similar to a hormone that is produced when you eat to help you feel full. It triggers the area of the brain that controls appetite and makes you feel less hungry and more satisfied, meaning you eat less.

How do I take weight loss injections and what results can I expect?

Weight loss injections should be injected into the skin in the front of the thighs, front of the abdomen or upper arms. It is important not to put them directly into a vein or a muscle. It may sound tricky, but don’t worry, your practitioner will show you how it’s done! Treatment is started at a low dose and will be gradually increased over the first five weeks to reach the optimal amount. This allows you to manage any side effects that may occur and acclimatise to the higher dose. The injection should be done around the same time every day and does not have to be taken with a meal.

How do I get started with weight loss injections?

To get started, simply contact one of our specialists through our online enquiry form or call our weight loss support team on 0121 445 7549, where a patient advisor will contact you to book an appointment to attend a consultation at your local clinic.

The consultation will take place in one of our clinics by an expert weight loss practitioner, who will guide you through the medication details by:

  • Guiding you through the medication details
  • Outline how weight loss injections work
  • What you should expect from weight loss injections
  • Outline the medication risks
  • Assess the candidates suitability
  • Recommend alternative interventions if necessary
  • The consultant will then assess the candidate’s suitability and recommend alternative weight-loss interventions if needed

Once you have chosen a suitable weight loss injections package, your weight loss practitioner will order the products for you. The medication will be sent directly to your home within 3 working days of the initial consultation.
