Understanding your weight loss journey

  1. 1

    Your first appointment

The initial step is to speak with a member of our clinical support team over the phone. During this call, you can discuss your reasons for considering treatment, likely costs and available finance options, the recovery period, and when you may wish to proceed.

If you feel ready to move forward, we will arrange your consultation with one of our specialist clinicians to assess your suitability and discuss the most appropriate treatment options for you.

  2. 2

    Free consultation

At your free consultation, you’ll speak with a specialist weight loss practitioner, such as a nurse or dietitian, to discuss your goals and explore suitable treatment options. You’ll have the opportunity to review potential benefits and risks, with no obligation to proceed.

The consultation can take place via video call or at your local clinic. If you choose to move forward, you’ll meet with a consultant clinician to confirm your suitability and complete any necessary pre-treatment assessments.

  3. 3

    The surgery

On the day of your procedure, you’ll meet your clinical team to review consent and ask any final questions before treatment begins. The procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic and typically takes 1–2 hours.

It is performed using minimally invasive techniques, and you will be closely monitored throughout. After treatment, you’ll be supported by our team as you begin your recovery.

  4. 4

    Recovery

Following your procedure, you will usually stay overnight and return home the next day. Our clinical team will monitor you closely and provide appropriate pain relief and support during your recovery.

You’ll receive guidance on hydration, nutrition, and caring for yourself at home before discharge. As the procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic, you’ll need someone to drive you home and stay with you initially.

A follow-up appointment will be arranged, and you’ll have access to our clinical support team should you need advice during your recovery.

  5. 5

    Aftercare

We believe high-quality aftercare is essential to your recovery and long-term success. Our team will provide clear guidance to help you heal safely, including advice on activity levels and when to resume normal routines.

Treatment is just the beginning of your journey. We offer structured aftercare programmes designed to support your ongoing progress, with continued clinical guidance and follow-up care tailored to your needs.

How much does weight loss surgery cost?

The cost of weight loss surgery can vary, so we advise booking in for your free consultation with your surgeon assistant to talk about costs. We offer flexible payment plans that are tailored to your individual needs and help you to spread the cost if required.

Gastric band surgery is a surgical procedure during which a silicone band is fitted around the top part of the stomach to help reduce hunger and appetite, and therefore your food intake, which eventually leads to long term weight loss. The procedure is for people who are classed as obese.

Gastric bypass surgery is designed to make the stomach smaller and bypass part of the intestine, which results in alterations in levels of gut hormones and significantly reduces appetite. You may want to consider a gastric bypass when diet and exercise has proved unsuccessful and you’re still overweight. A gastric bypass is non-reversible.

Gastric sleeve surgery removes a portion of the stomach permanently, creating a sleeve or tube-like shape. The stomach is made smaller, meaning your portion sizes will be reduced and you’ll have a lower calorie intake to aid weight loss. A gastric sleeve is non-reversible.

You’ll usually need to stay in hospital for one night following your gastric band surgery, and it may take around 1-2 weeks to return to your regular activities. Any pain you might have after the operation will be treated with pain relief medication, and it’ll be important to take it easy in the first few weeks.
