Aziz Gulamhusein

Dr Aziz Gulamhusein is a distinguished Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon specialising in advanced robotic surgery for urological cancers and complex abdominal procedures.

Dr Gulamhusein has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers, particularly kidney, prostate and testicular cancers. He combines advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques with a patient-centred approach, developing personalised treatment plans based on each patient's individual needs.

After graduating from Sheffield Medical School with an MBChB, Dr Gulamhusein undertook specialist training in urology and robotic surgery. He subsequently completed the Royal College of Surgeons Robotic Kidney Cancer Surgery Fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital in London, further developing his expertise in complex robotic procedures.

His specialist training also included a clinical visit to the European Robotic Urological Society (ERUS) robotic centre in Aalborg, Denmark, where he gained further experience in advanced robotic urological surgery.

Dr Gulamhusein currently practises at Electiva Hospitals and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, where he specialises in the treatment of urological cancers. He also holds an honorary consultant contract at The Royal Marsden Hospital, working alongside leading multidisciplinary cancer teams.

With particular expertise in robotic-assisted surgery, Dr Gulamhusein performs a high volume of complex kidney procedures. His approach combines advanced surgical techniques with a strong focus on patient safety, recovery and long-term outcomes.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Gulamhusein is actively involved in medical education and research. He is a Urology Module Lead at Sheffield Medical School, contributing to the education and training of future doctors and urologists. His research interests include robotic surgery, enhanced recovery pathways and developments in urological care, and he has authored numerous publications in leading medical journals.

Dr Gulamhusein is a member of several leading professional organisations within urology, including the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the European Association of Urology.
