Miss Jennifer Darrien is a highly experienced Consultant Surgeon specialising in Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) Surgery, with over two decades of clinical expertise. She is renowned for her compassionate approach, technical excellence, and commitment to advancing surgical care across both urban and remote healthcare settings.
Jennifer completed her surgical training in leading Scottish hospitals and undertook a prestigious Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at University College London Hospital and NHS Northumbria. She has held substantive NHS consultant roles in both Scotland and England, including at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. Jennifer has used these skills to forge a career as an Independent Bariatric, Upper GI and General Surgeon, providing NHS, Self-funding and insured patients with laparoscopic,(keyhole) surgical solutions to all benign foregut disorders as well as abdominal wall hernias.
Jennifer collaborates eectively with colleagues contributing to academic surgery. She is an Invited Guest Speaker and panellist at a variety of Industry, National and International Events.
